Overview
NeuroX1 is a software company that is building a platform to better understand learning and memory pathways in the brain – also known as synaptic plasticity. They create the next generation of neurotherapeutic drugs for attention, memory, and neurodegenerative disorders. The objective of this project was to elevate and revamp their brand, develop a new and improved website, and ensure consistency along all relevant touchpoints. The new branding would be applied to all relevant communication materials such as their new pitch deck, press release templates, and social media.
Concept & Strategy
Following the brand personality of Neurox1, the concept we developed focuses on progression and innovation while maintaining a close connection to the company’s USP. The branding concept is inspired by a synapse, which consists of two connected neurons that transfer pieces of information. A synapse is the basic structural and functional component for neural communication in the brain, so we created a visual identity that represents the interconnection of biology and technology with the scientific expertise of Neurox1.
Logo
We symbolized the synapse with an isotype composed of the graphic form of the letters 'N' and 'X'. 'N' acts as the presynaptic unit, and 'X' is the postsynaptic unit. The '1' is placed as a superscript in a formula. The isotype functions as an independent element, representing the NeuroX1 project in a simple and easily recognizable symbol.
Colors
The colors selected were charcoal gray, sunny yellow, and white. Gray is used as the base color and conveys the solidity, seriousness, and confidence of the brand, while contrasting with white and, above all, yellow. These backing colors connote NeuroX1’s values of dynamism, modernity, and completeness.
Typography
For this project, two main typographies were selected: the sans serif Kanit and the serif Lora. With its flat angles, Kanit is on the one hand ideal for readability and legibility, particularly with smaller-sized text, and on the other hand, it is also suitable for headings as it allows us to decrease the spacing between the letters. We use Lora with its serifs for attention-grabbing words and slogans.
Imagery
Their visual language comprises a system of simple, abstract shapes. These brand shapes serve to boost the aesthetic. Among these shapes we can find a hand, a brain, and even lines that simulate neuronal connection waves, harmonizing the visual image of the brand.
Illustration
Web
The aim of NeuroX1’s website was to inform patients with neurodegenerative diseases about this new technology and motivate them to take part in their tests, as well as drawing potential investors and candidates. We used high-contrast sections and small animations across the web design to engage users.

UX / UI
Communication
For NeuroX1's communication we created a social media toolkit which includes blog posts, articles, article covers, blackgrounds and banners. Furthermore, we created press release templates so they can easily announce updates on their products or the company itself to journalists, investors or media editors.

"They asked every question that needed to be asked, and they dealt with every detail of our project."
